I'm... really glad I decided to rent the first volume of Gurren Lagann from Hasting's, because it is brilliant. Going into it the only characters I knew were Kamina (THE EPITOME OF MANLINESS) and Yoko (...boobs) because they're very recognizable. So far I'm only halfway through episode three, but Simon is cute, Kamina is awesome (and munchikin!Kamina from the flashback makes me squee), Yoko's pretty cool, and LEERON IS BRILLIANT. A bit disturbing, but brilliant.
